Aspen Coriz-Romero is the 2024-25 IPS New Mexico Fellow. They were raised in Ojo Sarco, New Mexico and their family currently resides in the Española Valley. Aspen has worked in education and art access, youth empowerment, and environmental justice in their community.
Aspen graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Feminist Studies and Anthropology and a minor in Race and Ethnicity Studies from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. They also completed an A.A. in Liberal Arts from Northern New Mexico College. Aspen is passionate about radical (to-the-root) feminism, rural community engagement, military divestment, and public libraries. In their free time Aspen enjoys reading, collaging, listening to podcasts, and music.
