House GOP Wants to Pair Israel Military Aid With IRS Cuts That Help Rich Tax Cheats

"House Republicans are using aid for Israel as a political pawn in order to slash taxes for their wealthy donors," said Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden.

In an article highlighting the House GOP’s attempt to pair additional military aid to Israel with cuts to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that would help the rich avoid taxes, Common Dreams cites the National Priorities Project’s statement on military aid to Israel. The statement cautions in response to Biden’s supplemental funding request that “more military aid to Israel will mean more deaths.”

“In the face of massive suffering in Gaza and disregard for international law by the Israeli government, the U.S. must not provide additional military aid or weapons that would cause more deaths,” the article quotes from the statement. “Instead, the U.S. should use its considerable diplomatic strength to call for an immediate cease-fire.”
