29th Annual WMS-AME Church UN NGO Conference

At the 29th Annual NGO Conference of the Women’s Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, IPS analyst and Events Coordinator Netfa Freeman will speak about the report of the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent from its 2016 fact finding mission assessing the human rights conditions for African/Black people in the U.S. The theme of the conference overall is “Building Strong Communities with Sustainable Development.”

In addition to being a political analyst and the Events Coordinator at the Institute for Policy Studies, Netfa is also an organizer for both the Int’l Committee For Peace, Justice & Dignity and Pan African Community Action, (PACA,). As a PACA organizer, he was instrumental in organizing the DC area engagements with the UN Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent during their fact finding stop in Washington DC in January 2016.”

Also expected to be on the panel is Mac Darrow, Chief of the Millennium Development Goals Section of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
