Hill Briefing: How Would You Spend $1 Trillion?

At this congressional briefing and screening view two four-minute compelling videos which chronicle how the filmmakers – and the people they interview – would spend the more than $1 trillion already spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The filmmakers will also offer brief introductions to their work and to life in their communities.

US War SpendingAt this congressional briefing and screening view two four-minute compelling videos that chronicle how the filmmakers – and the people they interview – would spend the more than $1 trillion already spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The filmmakers will engage in a discussion.

The presentations will also take place from 4 pm to 5 pm in Rayburn House Office Building, Independence Ave & South Capitol Street, Room 2255 and from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for the event Youth Voices on the Economic Cost of War at Busboys & Poets, 2021 14th Street, NW.

The young filmmakers represent:

  • The Sadie Nash Leadership Project (SNLP) in Brooklyn, New York--a program designed to help young women develop leadership skills through a combination of coursework, mentoring, community organizing and activism.
  • AmplifyMedia in Boston, Massachusetts, an organization that provides opportunities for students to work towards positive change and foster civic engagement through music, media, and video.
