Nathaniel Kerksick

With creative yin and tech yang, Nate uses new media kung-fu to activate generation-spanning audiences to IPS' progressive policy campaigns. He strategizes and designs visual branding and creative communications, including the IPS and campaign websites, e-mail campaigns, interactive features and print collateral, working to ensure the Institute for Policy Studies gets more of the presence it deserves.

Nate has cultivated a decade's diverse creative experience in branding, design and interactive, assembling form, space, color, type and motion, through the lens of strategic communications. With an extensive creative portfolio across rich-media widgets, websites, ads and e-mails, brands and brochures — and an enthusiasm for game-changing ideas and technology — for over forty extraordinary clients, including Barack Obama's Presidential Transition Team, Transportation for America, and of course, IPS — Nate works to create rich media that serves purpose.

In 2006, Nate joined the Institute for Policy Studies and in 2008, was the Interactive Ad Designer for Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign. Among pro-bono and life-learning pursuits, Nate served as photojournalist in a Colombian human rights delegation, IT support for a Camden, NJ school reform campaign, case worker and after-school program director for a Washington, D.C. international housing shelter, and editor/producer on a nationwide video for the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee.
