Angelique Been

Angelique Been joined IPS as the Director of Development in August 2012. She oversees the organization's fundraising program with a focus on building a larger base and deepening the relationship between supporters and IPS' mission and long-term goals.

She is committed to connecting people with the causes they believe in, and the ways they can get involved and engaged with campaigns and issues. In prior development roles at ActionAid USA and Cambodian Children’s Fund, Angelique facilitated the growth of regular giving programs through capacity building initiatives and strategic planning, which increased supporter engagement on a variety of international development issues, including the right to education and women’s empowerment. She was also active in advocacy work on peace-building and conflict transformation.

Angelique holds two BAs from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Sociology and Global Studies, with an emphasis on Socioeconomics and Politics. She graduated with an MA in International Relations and Organizations at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where she cemented her knowledge and passion for human rights writing about international policy on minority rights, and European regional policy regarding refugees and asylum seekers.
