Washington DC – The Institute for Policy Studies will host a weekend of activities to celebrate 50 years of turning ideas into action for peace, justice, and the environment! The weekend includes a reunion, festival, Idea Slam, ticketed dinner, gala, and tribute to the life of IPS filmmaker Saul Landau. The weekend will feature an Ideas Into Action Festival from Friday evening, October 11, through Sunday, October 13th, 2013. The festival will feature energetic conversations, inclusive forums, a protest, and an innovative Idea Slam, a fast-paced competition of ideas with celebrity judges, a dinner, and a gala at Union Station.

“We will have some of the most creative leaders of the past half century in dialogue with dynamic young leaders of the next generation, and together they will chart a path to real change over the next 50 years,” said John Cavanagh, Director of the Institute for Policy Studies. “For 50 years, IPS has been bringing progressives together around bold ideas. We hope that our 50th Anniversary celebration weekend will mark another milestone on the journey to a better world.”
