Telling Tales in the Time of Trump

April 13, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

The arts have a tremendous potential to transform the world of politics and geopolitics. Think of the novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin or Picasso’s Guernica. But how can storytelling help create positive change at a time of fake news and outlandish presidential tweets?

John Feffer is a playwright, performer, novelist, and foreign policy expert whose just-published dystopian novel, Splinterlands, anticipated the election of Donald Trump. He will discuss the urgency of storytelling at the current moment with examples from his novel and his performances.

11:30 am – Bar opens; 12:5 pm – Lunch served; 1-2 pm – Presentation and Q & A

PRICE: $25 Members; $30 Non-members (includes lunch); $10 Lecture only
Make reservations here or call Pat at 202- 232-7363 X3003.
