Join IPS ally Split This Rock at the Grand Slam Finals of the 2016 Louder Than a Bomb teen poetry slam. The finals will culminate the one-week festival, where one team will be crowned the 2016 LTAB DMV Champions.  There will be special performances by 2016 Women of the World Champion Imani Cezanne and cellist Benjamin Gates.

Split This Rock and poetry N.O.W. are proud to host Louder Than a Bomb, the largest youth poetry competition and festival in the DMV. Students in after-school poetry clubs across the region work all year crafting new pieces and hoping to make it onto their school slam team so that they can compete in LTAB-DMV. More than just a poetry slam, Louder Than A Bomb is about sharing, listening, and connecting with other young people from a different part of town, or country, or cultural heritage. It’s about using our words to build the world we envision, starting with ourselves, our schools, and our slams.
