ISIS abroad, Islamophobia at home

The 72nd United Nations Anniversary Banquest of the Global Learning Center of Wichita presents “US Foreign Policy, Wars and Terrorism: ISIS abroad, Islamophobia at home”, with special guest Phyllis Bennis, IPS Fellow and Program Director of IPS’s New Internationalism.

Howard and Jeanne Johnston, after working for the State Department in Europe, retired to Wichita and founded the Global Learning Center in 1988. The Howard & Jeanne Johnston Award for Global Community Citizenship was established in 2000 to honor their lives of international service and global citizenship. The 2017 recipient of this award will be Armin Gerhard, who taught German and served at WSU as associate director of the Office of International Programs . He promoted intercultural understanding, including Global Learning Center, Asian Festival, and World Trade Council.
