Film: The Walls of Jericho and the Movement That’s Shaking Them

Jericho FlagIn the late 1990s, the Jericho Movement to free all U.S. political prisoners and prisoners of war began to take root. This two-hour documentary, The Walls of Jericho and the Movement That’s Shaking Them by Liane Scott, follows actions in support of Jericho that took place in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Learn about political prisoners Mumia Abu-Jamal, Leonard Peltier, Eddie Conway, the Move 9, the Puerto Rican Nationalists, and many more.

Revolutionaries such as Kathleen Cleaver, Chokwe Lumumba, Angela Davis, Dennis Banks and Ramona Africa weigh in on the state of the movement and the related issues of police brutality and the prison industrial complex. A discussion following the film will explore the tactics used to suppress dissent in the past and their re-emergence today.

This is event is free and open to the public, but a $10.00 suggested donation is requested to defray costs. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Only cash donations will be accepted at the door.
