Film: Served Like a Girl

Join us for an Institute for Policy Studies and Indie Lens Pop-Up DC film and community discussion – a candid look at a shared sisterhood to help the rising number of homeless women veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and suffer from PTSD, sexual abuse, and other traumas. Served Like a Girl, a film by Lysa Heslov enters into the “Ms. Veteran America” competition, these amazing ladies unexpectedly come full circle in a quest for healing and hope. For this “Mother’s Day” event, we’ll honor our mothers who serve our family, country, and community in so many ways. And learn more information about support for women veterans.

  • MSgt DENYSE GORDON (Air Force), 2012 Ms Veteran America and the competition’s director
