You are invited to discuss how to end the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, featuring books by IPS authors Phyllis Bennis and Miriam Pemberton: Ending the US War in Afghanistan: A Primer and Lessons from Iraq: Avoiding the Next War.

• Phyllis Bennis directs the New Internationalism Project at the Institute for Policy Studies and is a fellow at the Transnational Institute.
• Raed Jarrar is Senior Fellow for Peace Action, Iraq Consultant for the American Friends Service Committee, and co-author of The Iraq War Blog, An Iraqi Family’s Inside View of the First Year of the Occupation.
• Miriam Pemberton is Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies and annually helps to produce the “Unified Security Budget for the United States.”
• Gareth Porter is a historian, journalist, and policy analyst, and is the author of Perils of Dominance: Imbalance of Power and the Road to War in Vietnam.
