The Institute for Policy Studies join’s our close ally,  Split This Rock and its Youth Programs to proudly present the 2017 DC Youth Slam Team Grand Slam Finals! Join us for an inspiring evening of performance poetry competition giving the stage to some of the best youth poets in the DC metro area. Featuring award winning poet Shelby Birch and the top 10 poets from a series of qualifying slams and semi-finals, this event will determine the next team of teenage poets to serve as amabassadors for Split This Rock and the DC metro area. Poets who make the team will compete this summer at Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival where the DCYST took 1st place in 2014.
