Conference Panel: Black Power and Political Prisoners

conference logoThe Institute for Policy Studies proudly supports Students Against Mass Incarceration (SAMI) in their 1st Annual National Conference. SAMI now has chapters at Howard University, Columbia University, Mount Holyhoke College, Morgan State University, University of Maryland College Park and Community College of Baltimore County.

IPS colleague Netfa Freeman will be a featured panelist in the session “Black Power and Political Prisoners.” SAMI invites students and the general public to come and participate in their conference under the theme Where Do We Go From Here: Re-energizing the Black Student Movement. SAMi’s goal is to re-energize the Black Student Movement, which has always played an essential role in the Black Liberation Movement in this country. The conference will be a place to exchange ideas, build a black student activist network and create achievable concrete objectives.
