Join us for a brown bag where organizer and editor Giran Ozcan will lead a conversation, moderated by IPS’ Phyllis Bennis, on the Kurdish question, including today’s struggle in all four parts of Kurdistan — Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. He will discuss transitions within the Kurdish freedom struggle, specifically the transformation of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, women’s liberation as central to the theory and practice of the Kurdish freedom struggle, and what democratic confederalism means in terms of the Kurdish struggle.

Ozcan is a member of the foreign relations committee of the Kurdistan National Congress and has been living in South America to build solidarity networks between the peoples of South America and the Kurdish struggle.
