IPS Associate Fellow Manuel Pérez-Rocha, who is attending a civil society forum at the Trinidad Summit, and IPS Fellow Saul Landau, director of three films on Cuba and an expert on U.S. policy toward Latin America, will be leading a briefing on the Fifth Summit of the Americas in Trinidad & Tobago.
Manuel and Saul are coauthors of a chapter in IPS’s book Mandate for Change on U.S. policy toward Latin America. Manuel is also editor of a roundtable we’ve just published, featuring 14 diverse leaders from 11 Latin American countries, and their suggestions for concrete initiatives or policy changes that the Obama administration could make during its first year to build productive, respectful relations.
