IPS' Emira Woods will address the Congressional Black Caucus 42nd Annual Legislative Conference session "Africa Rising: A Continent of Opportunity."
Join Representative Karen Bass and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation for the Africa Braintrust, as IPS' Director of Foreign Policy In Focus Emira Woods is featured on a panel about "Emerging Threats to Political Stability," in Africa. The whole day will feature a distinguished keynote address, cultural performances, and other workshops with policymakers, academics, advocates and industry experts.
Other panelists include: Ambassador Johnnie Carson Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Amina Salum Ali Ambassador of African Union to the U.S. and Dr. Clarence Lusane Professor, American University.
Registration is required but the event is open to the public at no charge. Doors open at 8:30am.
