Lying with Statistics

Peter Hart at Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) points out that Bill O'Reilly claimed that the New England Journal of Medicine denounced health-care reform. But...that wasn't, you know, true. He cited some statistics about how supposedly most doctors opposed reform of the new landmark health legislation. Then he said it would damage medical coverage. (How exactly could the coverage for the tens of millions of Americans who have no coverage get any worse?) Anyway, Media Matters looked into it, and the New England Journal of Medicine denied having anything to do with O'Reilly’s statistics. He also said half of all primary care docs in this country would consider leaving the profession once the health-care reform is enacted. What profession would these former-physicians transition into?
